Brush Parks c.1870s Ransom Gillis House Restored by Nicole Curtis
205 Alfred Street, Brush Park, Detroit, Michigan, United States
A fabulous historic home in Detroit’s Brush Park has been restored to its former glory! The Ransom Gillis House was designed by Henry T. Brush and George D. Mason and built between 1876 and 1878 at a cost of $12,000. Unoccupied since the mid-1960s, attempts were made to restore the structure in the 1970s, 1980s and mid-2000s but none succeeded. It wasn’t until HGTV, Nicole Curtis (Rehab Addict) and Detroit-based mortgage lender Quicken Loans successfully restored the once grand mansion. The project aired in an eight-part special on HGTV. There’s a great photo tour of the interiors on HGTV, we’ve included a selection to see below!
